Austin Summer Musical for Children (ASMC) presents FREE musical theatre to Austin-area children through the generosity of corporate and private donors. You might be wondering how a non-profit organization can continue to provide professional quality productions for FREE year-after-year. It must cost a lot to put on one show, so how can ASMC provide over ten performances for FREE each year? Yes, it does take a lot of time and money that is raised and spent each year in order to adhere to our mission of keeping the performances free. How do we do it? With donations from people like you!

Monetary donations of any size are always greatly appreciated. What difference can even the smallest donation make? Donations cover many costs: venue, accompanist, costumes, props, programs, and so on. With enough donations, ASMC could afford to perform in a bigger venue to reach more children. It could mean the difference between hiring a pianist versus a three-piece rhythm band for accompaniment. The greater the donations, the greater the number of children that can experience our free theatrical performances. The links provided below offer two ways to make a monetary contribution: a one-time donation, or a recurring, monthly contribution.

Money isn't the only donation ASMC welcomes. We often receive donations in other forms, such as in-kind donations or items for our silent auction gala fundraiser. People have contributed props for our shows. Restaurants have provided food for the cast and crew during show runs. These forms of donations are also much appreciated.

There is another form of donation that is greatly appreciated... Time. ASMC is run by people just like you. We all have busy lives working our day jobs, taking care of our families, keeping up with our social lives, and so on. Every year, the folk with ASMC set a bit of that time aside to volunteer because they have fun doing what they love to do. Some people audition for the show, because they love to sing, dance, perform, or play dress-up. Some share their creative talents to assist with prop/set construction or script writing. And, if you are uncomfortable sharing your artistic talents with us, the House Manager can always use some good people to help usher.

Want to feel a sense of accomplishment by donating to our cause, whether monetary or temporal? Then, come see the look on the children's faces. Kids who see our show bubble with excitement as they anticipate a real theatrical performance, often for the first-time.
